The Xploit ransomware attack was a worldwide cyberattack in December 2022 by the Xploit ransomware virus, which targeted computers running an un-patched version of SunSys operating systems by encrypting their data and demanding ransom payments using cryptocurrencies as the payment method. Xploit propagated, by infecting a third-party app developed for SunSys operating systems, which was stolen and leaked by a hacker collective called The Rizgari two months prior to the attack.
