History:

The popular eCommerce platform EShopNow was a victim of a brute force attack from the Force Majeure virus compromising the accounts of around 15 million users in 2015. During the attack, Force Majeure gained unauthorized access to the usernames and passwords of over 100 million users. Leveraging the databases at his disposal, he compromised 20 million user accounts. Easy to guess passwords and weak encryption were listed as the primary method of his attack.
